  • Learn the Behind the Back Pass(another version)

In this video she is starting the trick Hooping with her Left hand above her head in a clock-wise direction. Make sure your Hoop is in a flat plane as it is spinning over your head. You will be using your RIGHT hand to “catch” the Hoop as it comes around your back. Your RIGHT hand should be to your side, just at your waist.  As you begin the trick, lower your Hula Hoop and aim it to go Behind your Back. You’ll feel your elbow sicking out, that is where it’s supposed to be. Now your Hoop is (or should be) behind your back; you will then gently toss your Hoop from your LEFT to your RIGHT hand, keeping your Right hand by your waist is helpful. Just remember that your Left hand should come around your back as much as possible to be able to “deliver” the Hoop to your Right hand. Once you pass it you can spin the Hoop out in front of you, like in the video. Or put the Hoop back on your body and raise it up over your head and begin the trick again.

  • Learn how to Hoop on your foot

An easy way to learn to Hoop on your foot is to lay down on your back, put your leg up(in this video she is using her Left foot to start and actually HOOPING on her Right foot.) Put the Hula Hoop on the top of your Left foot and next put your Right foot INSIDE your Hoop. Hold onto your Hoop with both hands and use your hands to position your hoop where it needs to be.Your hands will guide your Hoop first, then your Left foot will start the trick. Both of your feet are going to work together to get the Hoop going in the counter-clock wise direction. You will “push off” with the Left foot and will begin Hooping on your Right Foot! You’ll see that most of the movement is in your foot, and ankle, not really using your leg. You will need to be able to hold your leg up for a bit though! Sneak your other foot up your leg and switch feet. Going back and forth a few times is the way to get really good at this!
The other 2 ways to Learn how to Hoop on your Foot is to have the Hoop spinning on your hand, lay on your back(or begin on your side) and “steal” the Hula Hoop from your hand and put it on your Foot.

  • Learn how to do the Booty Bump

Learning to do the Booty Bump is an easy and fun Hoop trick.
You start off with the Hula Hoop going around your body in the counter-clockwise direction. After you get into a comfortable rhythm start to bend over at the waist. Your body is now angled vertically with the hoop. Start bouncing, use your knees, and legs to make your Booty Bounce! You should be bent over, with your back flat. If you are short, you may want to try a slightly smaller Hoop (as doing this move often gets your hoop very close to the ground). The motion of your belly, knees and legs in time with your Hoop allows the Booty Bump to happen easily!
