  • playing with open space

Hoop Tricks; Playing with open space.

Once you can hoop comfortably and can keep the hoop going, now it is time to play with all that open space in the hoop. Take your hands and look for gabs between the hoop and your body, when you see one, stick your hand in it and pull it back out before the hoop runs into your arm. This is using the “open space” in the hoop and between your body.
You can also do this while turning to slow down the motion and give you a chance to sweep your arm for longer periods of time.

  • one shoulder hooping

Hoop Tricks; How to hoop on one shoulder, or how to duck out and do a shoulder roll.

Your going to need to shrug your shoulder and dip the opposite shoulder down so that the shoulder you are going to roll the hoop on is “pointed” to the sky.

Practice first having your arm in the air and ducking your head out. After you are comfortable with that, drop your head out, but keep your arm down. The hoop should roll around your shoulder!
